Dr. William K and Mary H. Ray Scholarship Fund
The William K and Mary H. Ray Scholarship was established to provide academic support to graduating seniors of South Nodaway High School.
Created by their children in 2005 this fund honors their life, their legacy and their time with the South Nodaway R-IV School District. South Nodaway was Dr. Ray's first Superintendency after a time as teacher, coach and principal. During the 15 years devoted to the South Nodaway R-IV District, Dr. Ray was an early leader in the reorganized district that is comprised of Guilford, Barnard, and several rural schools. He was also instrumental in many traditions at South Nodaway, including the writing the school song, helping to select the mascot and school colors. Dr. and Mrs. Ray had a strong affinity and connection to the South Nodaway R-IV School District. Its unique sense of community and strong families made it a special place to live, work and play. Those same qualities hold true today. |
This scholarship is designed to assist graduating seniors, in good standing, who might not otherwise be eligible for support.
It may be applied to any post-secondary training; university, trade school or formal apprenticeship. It is structured as a perpetual, self-sustaining endowment with increasing value as the fund grows through contributions and interest revenue. The fund will continue to support scholarships for students in this district even if absorbed at a future date. If you have a passion for William K and Mary H Ray, the South Nodaway school district, and indeed, education itself, we invite you to contribute to this fund in their honor. |
